About Me

Children’s book author Aidan Niles has always loved to write stories. He was inspired to write his new release Lewis and the Mystery of the Bones by his own dog, Lewis. His dog doesn’t actually solve mysteries, like the book’s main character, but Aidan and his family taught Lewis to talk using speech buttons and now the pup bullies everyone for walks, treats, and extra belly rubs.

One of the most surprising things Aidan learned in penning his debut book is how much time he spent editing and how little help his dog gave him. Writing is in Aidan’s genes; his mother is a romance novelist and fostered his early love of storytelling. He hopes his young readers will come away from his books having escaped from the world to be entertained for a while and having learned something from his characters’ journey that stays with them long after the book is closed.

Having just graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Aidan loves languages and speaks Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. He was the editor-in-chief of The Majalla, an Arabic magazine. Other interests include anime, gaming, and most other nerdy endeavors. During his downtime, Aidan is an avid burrito enthusiast and has been frequenting the same burrito shop since he was old enough to chew. He lives in the Seattle area with his two dogs, Lewis and June. (And yes, June does want her own book as well. They are discussing terms.)
